Which one wins?

They are not really substitutes. PT-141 is a CNS-arousal molecule targeting desire circuits; kisspeptin is a hormonal-axis probe targeting GnRH neurons. If your research question is about arousal or libido, PT-141 is the tool. If it's about the HPG axis, LH pulsatility or fertility, kisspeptin is.

Both are peptides handled the same way: lyophilised, reconstituted with BAC water, refrigerated once mixed. Purity discipline matters especially for kisspeptin, where degradation products confound signalling reads — always work off a batch HPLC CoA.

Two different levels of the nervous system

PT-141 crosses into CNS and binds melanocortin receptors in the hypothalamus that gate sexual desire. Kisspeptin binds KISS1R on GnRH neurons, upstream of pituitary LH/FSH release. The endpoints look adjacent; the biology is a full axis apart.

Dosing shape

PT-141 is used as a bolus (e.g. 1.75 mg SC in the approved indication). Kisspeptin-10 is short-lived — most research uses continuous IV infusion or repeated SC boluses. A reconstitution calculator is essential either way.
